Off to see the...

It’s amazing what a new routine (including ‘getting dressed’ photos) can do for your self-awareness. Already I’ve realized that my clothes come predominantly from a neutral or extremely dull colour palette:

So, you’ll be pleased at my attempt to add a pop of colour (haha I sound like a fashion blogger) to my weekend outfit. OK, difficult to tell from the colour balance in my photos but, believe me, these are seriously bright. red. patent. shoes. Once out and about and over the uncertainty (photo confirms), those Dorothy-from-the-Wizard-of-Oz numbers really made me smile.

One of the guys at work makes a point of wearing one ‘novel’ piece of clothing whenever he has an important meeting (the last time he wore socks sporting Australian animals) ... it makes him feel rebellious ... and reminds him not to take himself too seriously. At the time I thought he was nuts.  Now he's my fashion hero.

Do you have any ‘novel’ pieces of clothing which make you smile? When and where have you worn them?

  1. I am a big fan of your red shoes! They're a fantastic statement piece. I too have a very plain color scheme in my closet and purposely tried to choose some brighter options to stretch myself during this 30 day challenge. I have a pair of orange flats that I love to wear as my statement piece.

  2. Thank you! I had a quick look on your lovely blog to try and find the orange flats... do you have a post with them featured?
